Is this 2014? Well then I am 47. I was born in Sesto San Giovanni, just outside Milan. I was born just before the end of that January weekend, on the 22nd at 11pm. As a teenager, I always wanted to study photography, a dream that was nipped in the bud after my parents’ decision to move lock, stock and barrel to Brivio, a beautiful small town along the Adda river near Lecco, where I still live today. Like every other teenager in Brivio, I went to school in Lecco where I studied electrical engineering. As soon as school was over, I took up a job in Milan as a photographer. After serving my time in the Italian army in Castelmaggiore near Bologna, discharged as Corporal Major, I spent another year in Milan, this time running a bar. At the same time I attended a course at the Chamber of Commerce in Lecco and became a salesman. I moved my way up to become sales director of a footware company based in Capannori, near Lucca, manufacturing shoes for women under the same brand sponsoring the Miss Italia beauty contest: “Sasch”. However, my passion for photography never died. I kept studying creative graphic programs using Apple, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign beside the classic Office and I can now design and build my own logos and websites. Presently, I work for Elcograf spa, a leader in the European printing industry, where I am responsible for weekly and monthly publications including Elle, Elle Decor, Riders and Gioia. I am managing the relationship with large clients such as Hearst Magazine Italia. I am fond of music, read, and watch lots of movies. I am the proud owner of a Martin D35, an iconic acoustic guitar, which I will learn to play sooner or later. I also enjoy jogging, which I do in the very early morning, bicycle racing and riding my two motorbikes. I have a Moto Guzzi California 90 Anniversary, but my heart is with the Moto Guzzi 1000 SP, 1979, dubbed “AceCaféMandello”. This is a very special motorbike that I built myself and that has taken its own rightful place in history after the “UnitedEurope ~ Mandello-Lampedusa-CapoNord” Event, an 11,000-kilometres-long tour across Europe I planned and singlehandedly completed this year to draw attention to the tiny and wonderful island of Lampedusa. The idea found many enthusiastic sponsors (including Dainese, Dell’Orto, Andreani Group, Tucano Urbano, Decor Service), the municipality of Mandello del Lario, Lampedusa and Linosa, Rome, Florence, Lucca, Capannori, the Province of Lecco, and the Region of Sicily. The icing on the cake was the “Medal of the President of the Republic of Italy” granted to my initiative by the President of the Republic of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.
